Notification Preferences

The Notifications section of the settings page controls how and when ResearchArk communicates with you. You can independently configure email notifications, push notifications, and periodic update digests. All changes are saved via the Save button at the bottom of the section; use Discard to revert unsaved changes.

Email Notifications

Email notifications are delivered to the email address associated with your account. Each of the following event types can be independently enabled or disabled:

• New funding opportunities -- Receive an email when new funding opportunities matching your interests or saved searches are published.
• Connection requests -- Receive an email when another user sends you a connection request.
• New messages -- Receive an email when you receive a new direct message on the platform.
• Platform updates -- Receive an email for important platform announcements, feature releases, and maintenance notifications.

Push Notifications

Push notifications are delivered in real time to your browser or mobile device. They appear even when you are not actively using ResearchArk, provided you have granted notification permissions in your browser. The following event types are available:

• Funding opportunities -- Real-time alerts when relevant funding opportunities are published or updated.
• Connection activity -- Notifications about accepted connection requests, new connection suggestions, and related activity.
• Messages -- Instant notification when you receive a new direct message.

Periodic Updates

Periodic updates are recurring email digests that consolidate activity and recommendations into scheduled summaries:

• Weekly digest -- A once-per-week email summarizing your recent activity, new funding opportunities matching your profile, and key platform highlights.
• Research alerts -- Personalized recommendation emails based on your research interests and activity patterns, highlighting funding opportunities and content you may have missed.

Saving Changes

After adjusting any notification preferences, click Save to persist your selections. The platform makes an API call to store your updated preferences. If you navigate away from the page without saving, your changes are lost. Click Discard to reset all toggles to their last saved state.
