ArkSearch is the AI-powered funding discovery engine at the heart of ResearchArk. It indexes over 9,000 research funding opportunities from major EU programmes (Horizon Europe, ERC, MSCA, EIT) as well as national and international funding schemes. ArkSearch combines semantic vector search with traditional filtering to help researchers find, track, and act on relevant funding faster than manual searches allow.
What Makes ArkSearch Different
Traditional funding databases rely on keyword matching, which means you miss relevant calls when you do not use the exact terminology the funder chose. ArkSearch uses AI-powered semantic search built on EmbeddingGemma-300M vectors to understand the meaning behind your query. Describe your research in plain language -- for example, "novel biomaterials for cardiac tissue repair" -- and ArkSearch surfaces opportunities that are conceptually related, even when they use different wording.
With ArkAssist enabled, search queries are further enhanced with LLM-powered analysis. You can write longer, more descriptive queries (up to 2,000 characters), attach your research bio for personalized results, and upload documents (PDF, DOCX, TXT) to provide additional context.
