Opportunity Details

Review the full detail page for a funding opportunity including eligibility, funding amounts, dates, subject areas, application requirements, and available actions.

When you click on a funding opportunity from search results, the Browse page, or a Smart Alert notification, you open its full detail page at /arksearch/opportunities/[id]. This page consolidates everything you need to evaluate whether an opportunity fits your research and to begin preparing an application.

Page Sections

Basic Information

The top of the page displays the core identifiers for the opportunity:

  • Title -- The official name of the funding call or topic.
  • Summary -- A brief overview of the call's objectives and scope.
  • Description -- The full text of the call, drawn from the funder's official publication.
  • URLs -- Links to the funder's original call page and any supplementary documentation.

Eligibility

Who can apply and under what conditions:

  • Applicant type -- Whether the call targets individuals, consortia, SMEs, or specific institutional types.
  • Career level -- Target career stage (e.g., early-career for ERC Starting Grants, senior for ERC Advanced Grants).
  • Geographic eligibility -- Which countries or associated states are eligible.
  • Consortium requirements -- Minimum and maximum consortium size, if applicable.

Funding

The financial details of the opportunity:

  • Award range -- Minimum and maximum funding per project.
  • Total available -- The total budget envelope for the call.
  • Number of awards -- How many projects the funder expects to fund.
  • Currency -- The denomination of the funding.
  • Duration -- Expected project length.
  • Matching funds -- Whether co-funding from the applicant is required.

Dates

All relevant dates for the opportunity lifecycle:

  • Deadline -- The submission deadline, displayed in your local timezone.
  • Open date -- When the call was published or opened for submissions.
  • Project start -- The expected start date for funded projects.
  • Notification date -- When applicants can expect to receive evaluation results.

Subject

The thematic scope of the opportunity:

  • Discipline -- Research discipline(s) targeted by the call.
  • Keywords -- Funder-assigned keywords and topic tags.

Application

How to apply and what is evaluated:

  • Submission method -- The platform or method for submitting applications.
  • Required documents -- Specific documents that must accompany the application.
  • Selection process -- Overview of how proposals are evaluated and selected.
  • Evaluation criteria -- The criteria against which applications are assessed.

Additional Information

Supplementary details that may affect your decision:

  • Contact -- Contact information for the funding body or programme officer.
  • Ethics requirements -- Any ethical review or compliance requirements.
  • Open access -- Whether open-access publication is mandated.
  • TRL -- Technology Readiness Level requirements, if applicable.
