Account & Profile Settings

The Account section of the settings page displays your core account information and lets you configure system-level preferences such as timezone, language, and appearance. Access it by navigating to /settings from the user menu.

Account Information

The top of the Account section displays your current account details in a read-only summary:

• Display name -- The name associated with your account, as set in your profile.
• Email address -- The email address linked to your account.
• Edit profile link -- A direct link to the profile editor where you can update your display name and other profile fields.

These fields are not editable directly from the settings page. To change your display name or email, use the profile editor accessible via the provided link.

System Preferences

Timezone

Select your timezone from a dropdown containing over 100 timezones, each displayed with its UTC offset (e.g. UTC+01:00 Europe/Berlin). The selected timezone affects how dates and deadlines are displayed throughout the platform, including funding opportunity deadlines in ArkSearch and scheduled alert delivery times.

Language

Choose your preferred interface language from the following options:

• English (default)
• Deutsch (German)
• Italiano (Italian)
• Espanol (Spanish)
• Francais (French)

Changing the language translates all navigation labels, buttons, form fields, tooltips, and system messages into the selected language. User-generated content such as funding opportunity descriptions and community posts remains in its original language. Appearance

Toggle between Light and Dark theme directly from the Account section. The selected theme persists via localStorage, so it is remembered across browser sessions. You can also choose to follow your system preference, which automatically switches between light and dark mode based on your operating system or browser setting. Privacy Notice

The bottom of the Account section displays the current privacy policy version (e.g. v1.0) along with a link to the full privacy policy document. ResearchArk tracks your acceptance of the privacy policy, so you can verify which version you have agreed to and review the full text at any time.
