Organizations
Browse and filter research organizations by country, sector, SME status, and veteran status with search, sorting, grid and table views, and a ResearchArk Organization Index.
The Organizations page at /graph/organizations provides a searchable, filterable browser for the research institutions stored in the CORDIS knowledge graph. It shares a sidebar with Projects, Topics, and Schemes under the Browse section of Graph's navigation.
Browsing Organizations
The page displays a paginated list of organizations in either grid or table view. Each organization entry shows:
- Name and short name -- The organization's full legal name and abbreviated name (if different)
- Country and city -- Location of the organization's registered office
- Sector -- Classification of the organization type (see sector types below)
- SME badge -- Indicator for organizations classified as small and medium enterprises
- Veteran badge -- Indicator for organizations that have participated in projects across multiple framework programmes
- Project count -- Total number of EU-funded projects the organization has participated in
- Total funding -- Cumulative EU contribution received across all projects
- RA Index -- The ResearchArk Organization Index, a composite score (0-100) reflecting the organization's overall research activity and impact within the knowledge graph
Organization Sectors
Organizations are classified into six sector types, each with a distinct badge in the interface:

| Academia & Universities | Higher education institutions participating as coordinators or partners |
| Research Organizations | Dedicated research centres, national laboratories, and independent foundations |
| Private Sector | Companies participating in innovation and collaborative research |
| Public Sector | Government agencies, regulatory authorities, and other public entities |
| Other | Non-governmental organizations, international bodies, and non-standard participants |
| Unclassified | Organizations lacking sector classification in the source CORDIS data |
View Modes
Toggle between two display layouts:
Grid view shows organizations as cards in a two-column responsive grid. Each card includes the organization name, location, sector badge, SME/veteran indicators, project count, funding total, and RA Index score. Cards link to the organization detail page.
Table view presents organizations in a data table with columns for name, type (sector badge), location, project count, EC contribution, and RA Index (displayed as a progress bar and numeric score). Rows are clickable and navigate to the organization detail page.
Search
The search bar accepts free-text queries matching against organization names and short names. Results update with debounced input, and pagination resets to page 1 on each change.
Filters
Four filter options are available in the toolbar:
Dropdown filters:
- Country -- Filter by the organization's country. Options include counts showing how many organizations are registered in each country.
- Organization type -- Filter by sector (Academia, Research Organizations, Private, Public, Other, Unclassified). Options display user-friendly labels with counts.
Toggle filters:
- SME only -- Show only organizations classified as small and medium enterprises
- Veteran only -- Show only organizations that have participated across multiple framework programmes
All filters can be combined with search. A Clear filters button resets all active selections.
Sorting
Four sort options are available:

| Total Projects | Sort by number of project participations |
| EC Contribution | Sort by total EU funding received |
Each sort option supports ascending and descending order.
Pagination
Results are paginated with configurable page sizes. The pagination control shows current page, total pages, and total result count, with options to change page size and navigate between pages.
Organization Detail Pages
Clicking any organization navigates to /graph/organizations/[orgId], which shows the full institutional profile including sector classification, location, project portfolio across framework programmes, coordination history, total funding breakdown, and linked projects with individual budget allocations and roles.
