My Funders

My Funders alerts (type: career) deliver a personalized feed of activity from the funding agencies that matter most to your career. The system learns which agencies you interact with -- through applications, saved opportunities, and search history -- and monitors those agencies for new calls, programme updates, and changes.

This alert type is built on the insight that researchers tend to build long-term relationships with specific funders. If you have successfully applied to ERC grants before, you want to know immediately when ERC opens new calls. If you have saved opportunities from a national funding body, you want to track that agency's output without manually checking their website.

How It Works

My Funders builds a personalized funder profile based on your activity in ArkSearch:

• Agencies you have applied to -- Funders associated with opportunities you marked as applied.
• Agencies you have saved -- Funders behind opportunities in your Favorites.
• Frequently searched agencies -- Funders that appear often in your search history and filter selections.

When any of these agencies publishes new funding calls or updates existing ones, the alert triggers.

Setting Up a My Funders Alert

1. Navigate to Smart Alerts from the ArkSearch submenu.
2. Click Create Alert and select My Funders.
3. Review and adjust the auto-detected funder list. You can:
   • Add agencies -- Manually include agencies that you want to track regardless of prior interaction.
   • Remove agencies -- Exclude agencies the system detected but you are no longer interested in.
4. Choose your frequency: daily, weekly, or monthly.
5. Save the alert.

What You Receive

Each notification includes opportunity-style results for each new call from your tracked agencies:

• Opportunity title -- The name of the newly published call.
• Funder -- The issuing agency.
• Deadline -- The submission deadline.
• Days-until-deadline badge -- A visual indicator of time remaining.
• AI insight -- Why this call is relevant given your past interactions with this funder and your research profile.

• Agency loyalty -- If you have built expertise in a specific funder's application process and evaluation criteria, My Funders ensures you never miss their new calls.
• Career tracking -- Monitor the agencies that have funded your research throughout your career to stay connected to their evolving priorities.
• Institutional alignment -- Research offices can track the agencies their institution has the strongest relationship with, coordinating responses across departments when new calls appear.
